front steps and classroom floors...

The front steps are being framed out so that concrete can be poured, the classroom floors are being refinished in three rooms so we can bring them back to their glory days! One of the downspouts in the front of the building is being tied into the existing underground pipe that we found below grade and one of the basement egress hatches is being repaired!

Monday July 27th

Just a few more pictures to keep the updates coming...

The weather has not cooperated! The roofing materials are here, the necessary equipment is on the roof, and we are ready to go. We just need Mother Nature to be on board! The front steps are getting closer to completion and the storage facility is ready for siding.

stairwells and floors

The picture on the right shows one of the stairwells in the older section of the building and its' current state! The floor in Mrs. DeMarco's Kindergarten classroom is being ripped up. A few of our older classroom floors are in such disrepair that they need to come out completely. There are floors in a few classrooms that we are going to save! They will look great when they are done.

The old Roof is looking pretty ragged...

so we thought everyone might like to see what the roof currently looks like. If you came to our tour of the building and referendum meetings last year, you already saw the pictures. But just in case you missed it here is what the roof looks like.

Till next time...

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

Alright, I know the rain is always needed for the area! But can't it just wait a few days? Anyway: Painting continues inside. The roof is on the storage facility. The custodial staff continue to work hard to get all the rooms ready! Here are a few pictures to satisfy your curiosity...

One Big Storage facility and other projects...

The storage building is looking great! The front steps will not be coming out completely. They will be capped over and the landing resurfaced. As soon as the federal government allows us to spend the Safe Routes To School grant we will get a new bike rack for out front. The electricity is being run to the storage building, many of the classroom floors are waxed and classrooms cleaned; the painting is going well; the picture "through the grate" is the sump pump that we reinstalled after the new concrete was poured. This was done so that the rain run-off goes into the drain, not the basement!

The roofing project is going to start July21-22! Ten days without rain--please!

Front steps demo...

The front stoop is coming out, but not without a fight! The stoop will be replaced and a new railing will be installed. The jackhammer is right outside my window--I will be hearing this in my sleep. The storm drain on the side driveway has been repaired--it was caving in underground and causing the driveway to wash away. The classroom painting keeps rolling along--get it? a painting joke!

A week goes by...

and look what happens! The storage facility is really taking shape, the classrooms are being painted and the work on the crumbling front steps has begun. The plumbers and electricians are are in the basement setting up a commercial dehumidifier to keep the basement dry and the air healthy! The roof work will begin in a few days and will take about ten days--weather permitting!!
