Something has hit the market place, targeted towards kids, that surprises the experts! It appears that the Camel cigarette company is testing a new form of smokeless tobacco in Indiana that contains upwards of 8 milligrams of nicotine IN EACH POUCH!! Depending on the brand, that is 300 percent more than most cigarettes!
Most articles I have read online all seem to point in one direction---our kids! The promotions, the advertisements, the entire package surrounding this product seems to be aimed at our youth. The product, Camel Snus, is referred to as "orbs", "strips", or "sticks." It is dissolvable, meaning the "chewer" does not have to spit. I can not imagine what this product can do to your stomach, esophagus and other internal organs. Let alone the blood pressure issues, vomiting, possible seizures and brain damage!!
They are on the horizon. Please keep an eye out for them locally. It looks like once a young teen starts using them, it may be too late to get them off the product.
Man! This is a stupid Idea!
Till next time...

This is off topic however I would like to bring to your attention the never-ending problem that is escalting in the parkinglot dropoff area out in front of the school. People dropping there children off and parking right in the dropoff area while they walk there child to the crossing guard or sit there to talk to another parent. I have seen more than once someone try to go around these vehicles only to just miss hitting a child. Not to mention the traffic backup that occurs. What are we waiting for to address this nightmare? I can't believe that the school can not get our Police Department to do more to control the parking lot situation.
We have addressed the issue with the parents who pick up and drop off their children in the morning and in the afternoon. The police have discussed this. The issue should be addressed by everyone who comes to the school and sees the situation everyday. The lot directly across the street is not school district property, it is township property. I will contact the police department again and voice your concern. it would be great if you would be willing to do the same. I would like to see anyone who does not park in a space get a citation, but I don't get to make those decisions. It would also be great if more parents were actually willing to get out of their cars and come across the foot bridge from the township lot behind the bank.
